Sparing with Fear: Round XI

I can recognize fear from across the street just as plainly if I were spotting my best friend. It wears a black ski mask and tight, nylon, black pants as it slithers and slinks its way towards the unsuspecting.

It has stalked, consumed and debilitated so many.

It is staggering to think of the number of battles fear has won - does anyone have a chance?

. . . at least I'm not alone.

Watching those you care about contend with fear is almost as horrible as battling it yourself.

There is nothing you can do, but . . . watch.

Unable

There is no gender discrimination

It affects each one of us the same

Shying away from vulnerability

We’re all motivated to win the game

Relationships are persistently pursued

Then stifled, held conveniently at bay
