Posting for the First Time . . .

Okay, so I'm told most writers (would-be writers) have a blog. So this is my attempt to get with the times and post something spectacular. Well, "spectacular" is a matter of opinion.

We'll just use this forum as a way of posting some 'happenings,' creative thoughts, some writings (passages, story ideas, or poetry) and see how it goes. Please feel free to comment . . . .it's always interesting what the masses have to say.

Writing I
On, February 3, I attended a class where journaling is encouraged, however, the only trick is to journal specifically on topics presented on the night in question. This particular night was about religion and your relationship with God or whomever your God is.

Not that I'm particularly religious per say; I would call myself more spiritual than religious as I don't frequent religious ceremonies. This is where my entire Catholic family (both sides) would have an enormous difference of opinion about that, but this is what I came with - a little poem about my relationship with my Catholic God. My poems don't necessarily rhyme either, so if that is expected here - sorry to disappoint.

Relationship with God:

Situations out of one's control are called fate
Fate however, provides a choice, one can choose to engage or not
Not sure what I believe, if there is a God
Raised by a strong Catholic home - taught Sunday School
There is a God out there, bringing humanity to the forefront
I live by the Golden Rule now that my anger isn't lashing out upon the world
Its amazing what time to heal can do
Your person comes back into your life while God says,
"Here you are - we've been waiting for you. You were lost, so I kept her safe. You're back and well enough to take care of her yourself. So I am returning your person back into your care. Remember, we're here - when you need us."
These are the little things my God can do

  5. Alicia,
What a wonderful idea for you to blog. I'm thinking of doing the same thing about life with little ones. Imagine how many comments my maxi pad story would have received! Hahaha. Keep blogging. It's terrific therapy. I journaled all my life and I swear it's how I got through the rough patches of my life. See you Monday. XOXO, Renee
